To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, {written: or, enrolled}

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. {provided: or, foreseen}
Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, {being} the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. {redeemed: Gr. bought}
That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel {is} my son, {even} my firstborn:
Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
For God {is} not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
{Which is} a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.
(For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
And hath put all {things} under his feet, and gave him {to be} the head over all {things} to the church,
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. {yet...: or, is yet spoken of}
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed {himself} to him that judgeth righteously: {himself: or, his cause}
And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and {with} other my fellowlabourers, whose names {are} in the book of life.
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, {both} of man and of beast: it {is} mine.
Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church:
They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim {is} my firstborn. {supplications: or, favours}
Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with {my} whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and {in} the congregation. {Praise ye...: Heb. Hallelujah}
Also I will make him {my} firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
For to me to live {is} Christ, and to die {is} gain.
God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all {them that are} about him.
Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
We are confident, {I say}, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. {darkly: Gr. in a riddle}
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so {let} the wives {be} to their own husbands in every thing.
But he shall acknowledge the son of the hated {for} the firstborn, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath: for he {is} the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn {is} his. {that...: Heb. that is found with him}
Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin-; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

And when Jacob had made an end of commanding his sons, he gathered up his feet into the bed, and yielded up the ghost, and was gathered unto his people.
And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that {was} in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. {dungeon: Heb. house of the pit}

And he charged them, and said unto them, I am to be gathered unto my people: bury me with my fathers in the cave that {is} in the field of Ephron the Hittite,
Wherefore I have not sinned against thee, but thou doest me wrong to war against me: the LORD the Judge be judge this day between the children of Israel and the children of Ammon.
