Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people: {door: Heb. threshold}
When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when {thou} numberest them. {their number: Heb. them that are to be numbered}
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever {is} of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, {which} I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
And they came, both men and women, as many as were willing hearted, {and} brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold: and every man that offered {offered} an offering of gold unto the LORD.
For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.
And if a man will at all redeem {ought} of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth {part} thereof.
And brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated {things} faithfully: over which Cononiah the Levite {was} ruler, and Shimei his brother {was} the next.
And the priest shall value it, whether it be good or bad: as thou valuest it, {who art} the priest, so shall it be. {as...: Heb. according to thy estimation, O priest, etc}
And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the LORD the collection {that} Moses the servant of God {laid} upon Israel in the wilderness. {a proclamation: Heb. a voice}
And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which {is} in Jerusalem:
And he set the priests in their charges, and encouraged them to the service of the house of the LORD,
And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it {withal}. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.
And he brought into the house of God the things that his father had dedicated, and that he himself had dedicated, silver, and gold, and vessels.
But Solomon was building his own house thirteen years, and he finished all his house.
And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold {that was} found in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and in the king's house, and sent {it} to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem. {went...: Heb. went up}
And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, {even} the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel {there} present, had offered:

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
If a soul commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, in the holy things of the LORD; then he shall bring for his trespass unto the LORD a ram without blemish out of the flocks, with thy estimation by shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass offering:
I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here, to offer willingly unto thee. {present: Heb. found}
Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons {shall be} for the LORD by thy estimation.
They gave after their ability unto the treasure of the work threescore and one thousand drams of gold, and five thousand pound of silver, and one hundred priests' garments.
And he brought in the priests and the Levites, and gathered them together into the east street,
Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all {these} nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened {it} not.
For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the LORD did they bestow upon Baalim.
