Behold, God {is} my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH {is} my strength and {my} song; he also is become my salvation.

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, {love: or, pity}
For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all nations round about.
And she {was} a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served {God} with fastings and prayers night and day.
For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,

O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and {let} thine ears {be} attent unto the prayer {that is made} in this place. {unto...: Heb. to the prayer of this place}
And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou {wilt}.
Also the Levites {which were} the singers, all of them of Asaph, of Heman, of Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, {being} arrayed in white linen, having cymbals and psalteries and harps, stood at the east end of the altar, and with them an hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets:)
And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that {appertained} unto Korah, and all {their} goods.

Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:
And these {are} they that waited with their children. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman a singer, the son of Joel, the son of Shemuel, {waited: Heb. stood}
He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
