{To be} a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which {is} not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.

But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to {his} destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.
And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. {burn: or, offer}
And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it. {sweet incense: Heb. incense of spices}
There shall no stranger eat {of} the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat {of} the holy thing.
Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
But those that encamp before the tabernacle toward the east, {even} before the tabernacle of the congregation eastward, {shall be} Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as {was} Aaron.
According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
And thou shalt give to the priests the Levites that be of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith the Lord GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering.
Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation; that it may be a memorial unto the children of Israel before the LORD, to make an atonement for your souls.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. {rebels: Heb. children of rebellion}
And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.
Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest's office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest's office {unto you} as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
He sent Moses his servant; {and} Aaron whom he had chosen.
And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who {is} this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the LORD.
And the chamber whose prospect {is} toward the north {is} for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar: these {are} the sons of Zadok among the sons of Levi, which come near to the LORD to minister unto him.
And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, {for} a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.

But as for us, the LORD {is} our God, and we have not forsaken him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, {are} the sons of Aaron, and the Levites {wait} upon {their} business:
Wherefore they called these days Purim after the name of Pur. Therefore for all the words of this letter, and {of that} which they had seen concerning this matter, and which had come unto them, {Pur: that is, Lot}
And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate {and} to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat {thereof}, because they {are} holy.
O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he {is} their help and their shield.
They shall teach Jacob thy judgments, and Israel thy law: they shall put incense before thee, and whole burnt sacrifice upon thine altar. {They shall teach: or, Let them teach} {they shall put: or, let them put} {before...: Heb. at thy nose}
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the LORD throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever.
Then said he unto me, The north chambers {and} the south chambers, which {are} before the separate place, they {be} holy chambers, where the priests that approach unto the LORD shall eat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place {is} holy.
The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates {for} a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee {shall minister} before the tabernacle of witness.
And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD.
Neither from a stranger's hand shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption {is} in them, {and} blemishes {be} in them: they shall not be accepted for you.
For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
