Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, {tetrarch: or, governor of four provinces}
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar. {hearing: or, judgment}
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.
All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, {ye} hypocrites?
For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, {this} also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, {even} as many as obeyed him, were dispersed. {obeyed: or, believed}
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and {upon} the isles of the sea.
