Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

Zedekiah {was} twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name {was} Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when king Zedekiah sent unto him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

Israel {is} a scattered sheep; the lions have driven {him} away: first the king of Assyria hath devoured him; and last this Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon hath broken his bones.

The word which Jeremiah the prophet commanded Seraiah the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, when he went with Zedekiah the king of Judah into Babylon in the fourth year of his reign. In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth {day} of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the hand of the LORD was upon me, and brought me thither.

Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against Libnah:

Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?

And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
