And of Levi he said, {Let} thy Thummim and thy Urim {be} with thy holy one, whom thou didst prove at Massah, {and with} whom thou didst strive at the waters of Meribah;

And these {are} the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations; Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi {were} an hundred thirty and seven years.

And Nahshon begat Salma, and Salma begat Boaz, {Salma: also called, Salmon}

Simeon and Levi {are} brethren; instruments of cruelty {are in} their habitations. {instruments...: or, their swords are weapons of violence}

And the rest of the children of Kohath {had} by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

Unto the sons of Merari {were given} by lot, throughout their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
