Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: {persecuted us: or, chased us out}

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great {is} your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:
Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:
Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.
Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the {day} following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, {thou} that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under {her} wings, and ye would not!
And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood {be} on us, and on our children.
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.

The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
And if it bear fruit, {well}: and if not, {then} after that thou shalt cut it down.
By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. {blood: Heb. bloods}
And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:
For the transgression of Jacob {is} all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What {is} the transgression of Jacob? {is it} not Samaria? and what {are} the high places of Judah? {are they} not Jerusalem?
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. {desolate: or, guilty}
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
And they caught {him}, and beat him, and sent {him} away empty.
I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way {that was} not good, after their own thoughts;
Ye have condemned {and} killed the just; {and} he doth not resist you.
A righteous man falling down before the wicked {is as} a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am {he}, and {that} I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
As concerning the gospel, {they are} enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, {they are} beloved for the fathers' sakes.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine: {punish: Heb. visit upon}
And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
For they persecute {him} whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. {those...: Heb. thy wounded}
{Let} this {be} the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul.

But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.

Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last {state} of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in {yourselves}, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay {them} before me.

Of sin, because they believe not on me;
For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.
That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which {I have} for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; {do not...: or, are disobedient}

Be merciful, O LORD, unto thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and lay not innocent blood unto thy people of Israel's charge. And the blood shall be forgiven them. {unto thy people of: Heb. in the midst, etc}
And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,
And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. {Is it} not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD.
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
