[To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known {me}.
{It is} the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings {is} to search out a matter.
Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited {me} in the night; thou hast tried me, {and} shalt find nothing; I am purposed {that} my mouth shall not transgress.
The LORD God of gods, the LORD God of gods, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know; if {it be} in rebellion, or if in transgression against the LORD, (save us not this day,)
Counsel in the heart of man {is like} deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
