Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what {is} this that goeth forth.

Then said I, O my lord, what {are} these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these {be}.
And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What {be} these? And he answered me, These {are} the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,
Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
Then said the LORD unto me, What seest thou, Jeremiah? And I said, Figs; the good figs, very good; and the evil, very evil, that cannot be eaten, they are so evil.
The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
Then said I, O my lord, what {are} these? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these {be}.
And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What {are} these, my lord?
Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had {two} horns: and the {two} horns {were} high; but one {was} higher than the other, and the higher came up last. {the other: Heb. the second}
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites {is} not yet full.
