The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify {themselves} against Judah.

Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof. {heap: or, little hill}
For {it was} not an enemy {that} reproached me; then I could have borne {it}: neither {was it} he that hated me {that} did magnify {himself} against me; then I would have hid myself from him:
In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old: {close: Heb. hedge, or, wall}
Where {is} boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify {themselves} against me.
The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, {and} to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth. {to stain: Heb. to pollute}
The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise {man} glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty {man} glory in his might, let not the rich {man} glory in his riches:
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
For I said, {Hear me}, lest {otherwise} they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify {themselves} against me.
At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived?

If indeed ye will magnify {yourselves} against me, and plead against me my reproach:
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, {are called}:
In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. {uncleanness: Heb. separation for uncleanness}
And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that {are} with thee {are} too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.
Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
If indeed ye will magnify {yourselves} against me, and plead against me my reproach:
Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts. {the master...: or, him that waketh, and him that answereth}
