What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
What shall we say then? {Is} the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet. {lust: or, concupiscence}
Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed are ye, when {men} shall revile you, and persecute {you}, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. {falsely: Gr. lying}
Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. {raise: or, receive}
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as {is} good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
Wherein {was} written, It is reported among the heathen, and Gashmu saith {it, that} thou and the Jews think to rebel: for which cause thou buildest the wall, that thou mayest be their king, according to these words. {Gashmu: also called, Geshem}

Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
Behold, {here is} my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. {so vile...: Heb. the matter of this folly}
