Blessed are ye, when {men} shall revile you, and persecute {you}, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. {falsely: Gr. lying}
But ye {are} forgers of lies, ye {are} all physicians of no value.

Many {are} my persecutors and mine enemies; {yet} do I not decline from thy testimonies.
But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, {yet} found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
The proud have had me greatly in derision: {yet} have I not declined from thy law.
For we have found this man {a} pestilent {fellow}, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes:
A double minded man {is} unstable in all his ways.
Neither can they prove the things whereof they now accuse me.
I intreated thy favour with {my} whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word. {favour: Heb. face}
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law; yea, I shall observe it with {my} whole heart.
Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

And ye shall seek me, and find {me}, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
The wicked in {his} pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. {The wicked...: Heb. In the pride of the wicked he doth persecute}
The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: {but} I will consider thy testimonies.

Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.
Not so: go now ye {that are} men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
