Remember, O LORD, what is come upon us: consider, and behold our reproach.
I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments.
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble {which I suffer} of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. {cruel...: Heb. hatred of violence}
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
I {am} small and despised: {yet} do not I forget thy precepts.
Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they {are} ever with me. {they...: Heb. it is ever with me}
And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which {are} in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;
My soul {is} continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.
Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day. {trouble: Heb. weariness} {that...: Heb. that hath found us}
Behold, O LORD, and consider to whom thou hast done this. Shall the women eat their fruit, {and} children of a span long? shall the priest and the prophet be slain in the sanctuary of the Lord? {of a span...: or, swaddled with their hands?}
Consider {and} hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the {sleep of} death;
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;
Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of {mine} house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten {them}:
Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
Her filthiness {is} in her skirts; she remembereth not her last end; therefore she came down wonderfully: she had no comforter. O LORD, behold my affliction: for the enemy hath magnified {himself}.
Consider {and} hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the {sleep of} death;
Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble {which I suffer} of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
If I be wicked, woe unto me; and {if} I be righteous, {yet} will I not lift up my head. {I am} full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
