He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon {him}, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from {his} hands.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
Before I go {whence} I shall not return, {even} to the land of darkness and the shadow of death;
That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that {are} in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures {shall be} in all high places.
