Then came the children of Israel, {even} the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.

So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which {is} Kadesh.
And the name of Amram's wife {was} Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom {her mother} bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
For ye rebelled against my commandment in the desert of Zin, in the strife of the congregation, to sanctify me at the water before their eyes: that {is} the water of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
And when we cried unto the LORD, he heard our voice, and sent an angel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we {are} in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam {became} leprous, {white} as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, {she was} leprous.
And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.
And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
Because ye trespassed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified me not in the midst of the children of Israel. {Meribah-Kadesh: or, strife at Kadesh}
And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in {again}.
The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman. {Ethiopian: or, Cushite} {married: Heb. taken}
And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, {was} thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them. {brook: or, valley}
So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath.
So ye abode in Kadesh many days, according unto the days that ye abode {there}.
And they removed from Eziongaber, and pitched in the wilderness of Zin, which {is} Kadesh.
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.
But when Israel came up from Egypt, and walked through the wilderness unto the Red sea, and came to Kadesh;
And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
And it came to pass in the fortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first {day} of the month, {that} Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the LORD had given him in commandment unto them;
Then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land: but the king of Edom would not hearken {thereto}. And in like manner they sent unto the king of Moab: but he would not {consent}: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
And the children of Israel, {even} the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh, and came unto mount Hor.

And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon:
And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.
And they returned, and came to Enmishpat, which {is} Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Hazezontamar.
And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa: {Maalehacrebbim: or, the going up to Acrabbim}
And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar {unto} the waters of strife {in} Kadesh, {and} to the river toward the great sea. {strife...: or, Meribahkadesh}
