While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's {house}, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been {dead} four days.
Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.
Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.

And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, {Thou} Son of David, have mercy on me.
The nobleman saith unto him, Sir, come down ere my child die.
And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
Wilt thou shew wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise {and} praise thee? Selah.
