What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, {and} all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name {of the LORD}, shall be put to death.
And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
Now when the Pharisee which had bidden him saw {it}, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have known who and what manner of woman {this is} that toucheth him: for she is a sinner.
But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.
Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and {against} God.
For he taught them as {one} having authority, and not as the scribes.

For as he thinketh in his heart, so {is} he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart {is} not with thee.

Why doth this {man} thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, {even} against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.
