Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

And Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests which bare the ark of the covenant stood: and they are there unto this day.

Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:

Take you twelve men out of the people, out of every tribe a man,

Give out from among you three men for {each} tribe: and I will send them, and they shall rise, and go through the land, and describe it according to the inheritance of them; and they shall come {again} to me.

And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
