Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power {belongeth} unto God. {power: or, strength}
For God speaketh once, yea twice, {yet man} perceiveth it not.
Whom, though I were righteous, {yet} would I not answer, {but} I would make supplication to my judge.
I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself {thus}; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed {to the yoke}: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou {art} the LORD my God.
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. {guilty...: or, subject to the judgment of God}
And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne {chastisement}, I will not offend {any more}:

Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate, {which are} as wind?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed {it}, Why hast thou made me thus? {repliest...: or, answerest again, or, disputest with God?}
Lo, all these {things} worketh God oftentimes with man, {oftentimes: Heb. twice and thrice}
