How is Sheshach taken! and how is the praise of the whole earth surprised! how is Babylon become an astonishment among the nations!

And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou {art} this head of gold.

Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed.
And it shall come to pass, {that} all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
