They {are} vanity, {and} the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

Behold, ye {are} of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination {is he that} chooseth you. {of nothing: or, worse than nothing} {of nought: or, worse than of a viper}
Are there {any} among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? {art} not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these {things}.
They {are} vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, {that} I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
Behold the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people because of them that dwell in a far country: {Is} not the LORD in Zion? {is} not her king in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, {and} with strange vanities? {them...: Heb. the country of them that are far off}

Behold, they {are} all vanity; their works {are} nothing: their molten images {are} wind and confusion.
But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock {is} a doctrine of vanities. {altogether: Heb. in one, or, at once}
Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, {even} they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
And turn ye not aside: for {then should ye go} after vain {things}, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they {are} vain.
And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
They have moved me to jealousy with {that which is} not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I will move them to jealousy with {those which are} not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD. {stumblingblocks: or, idols}

For all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, by which they sinned, and by which they made Israel to sin, in provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their vanities.
