But when the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, the LORD raised them up a deliverer, Ehud the son of Gera, a Benjamite, a man lefthanded: and by him the children of Israel sent a present unto Eglon the king of Moab. {a Benjamite: or, the son of Jemini} {lefthanded: Heb. shut of his right hand}
And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.
Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their enemies, who vexed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest {them} from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:
And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

And the land had rest forty years. And Othniel the son of Kenaz died.
And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim. {defend: or, deliver: Heb. save}
And the sons of Kenaz; Othniel, and Seraiah: and the sons of Othniel; Hathath. {Hathath...: or, Hathath, and Meonothai, who begat, etc}
But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
