And he judged Israel in the days of the Philistines twenty years.

But his father and his mother knew not that it {was} of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.
