Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases {were} torn in the midst of the streets. As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand {against} the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it:

And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day {is} a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and {there is} not strength to bring forth. {blasphemy: or, provocation}

And behold at eveningtide trouble; {and} before the morning he {is} not. This {is} the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

The Lord was as an enemy: he hath swallowed up Israel, he hath swallowed up all her palaces: he hath destroyed his strong holds, and hath increased in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.

And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, {even} a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. {unto...: Heb. to the fowl of every wing} {my sacrifice: or, my slaughter}

Behold, their valiant ones shall cry without: the ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly. {valiant...: or, messengers}

The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, {and} with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD {is} at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests. {bid: Heb. sanctified, or, prepared}

And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she {being} desolate shall sit upon the ground. {desolate: or, emptied: Heb. cleansed}

And it came to pass, {that} when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
