They have deeply corrupted {themselves}, as in the days of Gibeah: {therefore} he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.
And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, {and} thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they forced, that she is dead. {forced: Heb. humbled}
{Now} as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, {and} beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.
I have cut off the nations: their towers are desolate; I made their streets waste, that none passeth by: their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, that there is none inhabitant. {towers: or, corners}
And the men of Israel, beside Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men that drew sword: all these {were} men of war.

Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart {is} evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. {a sweet...: Heb. a savour of rest or, satisfaction} {for the imagination: or, through the imagination}
Now therefore deliver {us} the men, the children of Belial, which {are} in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites that day twenty and two thousand men.
But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
Now therefore deliver {us} the men, the children of Belial, which {are} in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel:
Therefore they turned {their backs} before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and them which {came} out of the cities they destroyed in the midst of them.
They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, {and} draw out the tongue? {are} ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,
And the LORD said unto Moses, Bring Aaron's rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and thou shalt quite take away their murmurings from me, that they die not. {rebels: Heb. children of rebellion}
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
And Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which {is} Jerusalem, Gibeath, {and} Kirjath; fourteen cities with their villages. This {is} the inheritance of the children of Benjamin according to their families.
