So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

And thou shalt make two cherubims {of} gold, {of} beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.
And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders {of Israel, who were} clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
Now where remission of these {is, there is} no more offering for sin.

And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
And the cherubims spread out {their} wings on high, {and} covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another; {even} to the mercy seatward were the faces of the cherubims.
