And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword {is} drawn: for the slaughter {it is} furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I {am} against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
The spoilers are come upon all high places through the wilderness: for the sword of the LORD shall devour from the {one} end of the land even to the {other} end of the land: no flesh shall have peace.
If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that {is} in the sea. {piercing: or, crossing like a bar}
And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all {these things} must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Whose arrows {are} sharp, and all their bows bent, their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind:

If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
