Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which {if} a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which {if} a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.
And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for {there is} no bread, neither {is there any} water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.
For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Likewise when the LORD sent you from Kadeshbarnea, saying, Go up and possess the land which I have given you; then ye rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God, and ye believed him not, nor hearkened to his voice.
The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof.
Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered {morter}, and will say unto you, The wall {is} no {more}, neither they that daubed it;
And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Go, enquire of the LORD for me, and for them that are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great {is} the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do after all that is written in this book.
And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
Now will I shortly pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish mine anger upon thee: and I will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense thee for all thine abominations.

And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.
Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I the LORD have spoken {it} in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.
But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels {and} in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. {imagination: or, stubbornness} {went: Heb. were}
But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their backs, and slew thy prophets which testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great provocations.
{If} the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I {am} God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
And, behold, ye are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? {there is} none good but one, {that is}, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:
I spake unto thee in thy prosperity; {but} thou saidst, I will not hear. This {hath been} thy manner from thy youth, that thou obeyedst not my voice. {prosperity: Heb. prosperities}
Because they have done {that which was} evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it {is} holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth {any} work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
And ye shall know that I {am} the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that {are} round about you. {for ye...: or, which have not walked}
And I gave them my statutes, and shewed them my judgments, which {if} a man do, he shall even live in them. {shewed...: Heb. made them to know}
And the commandment, which {was ordained} to life, I found {to be} unto death.
