{To wit}, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and {there is} no peace, saith the Lord GOD.

{There is} a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made {you} desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and {are} an infamy of the people: {Because: Heb. The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know {it}: the prophet {is} a fool, the spiritual man {is} mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred. {spiritual...: Heb. man of the spirit}
Therefore {it is} no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
