For their vine {is} of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah: their grapes {are} grapes of gall, their clusters {are} bitter: {of the vine: or, worse than the vine}

Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
Thou {art} thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou {art} the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother {was} an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.
What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble {you}, and thereby many be defiled; {fail...; or, fall from}
But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her. {punishment of the iniquity: or, iniquity}
And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast {it} into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

Son of man, What is the vine tree more than any tree, {or than} a branch which is among the trees of the forest?
