Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

Better {is} an handful {with} quietness, than both the hands full {with} travail and vexation of spirit.

Better {is} a dry morsel, and quietness therewith, than an house full of sacrifices {with} strife. {sacrifices: or, good cheer}

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort {you} by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, {so} ye would abound more and more. {beseech: or, request} {exhort: or, beseech}

Issachar {is} a strong ass couching down between two burdens:

For kings, and {for} all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. {authority: or, eminent place}

Give us this day our daily bread.

But {let it be} the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, {even the ornament} of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father {doth} his children,

And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. {let...: Heb. let thy name be called upon us} {to take...: or, take thou away}

Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.

And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed {them}.
