Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and {that} ye may have lack of nothing. {of...: or, of no man}
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this {is} an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.
Therefore said he, Take {it} up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.
If thou lend money to {any of} my people {that is} poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.
And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut {the door} upon him, and went out.
But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. {axe head: Heb. iron}
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake {as they were} moved by the Holy Ghost. {in old time: or, at any time}
