Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon. {fetters: or, chains}
Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they {are} written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead. {Jehoiachin: also called, Jeconiah, or, Coniah}
For out of prison he cometh to reign; whereas also {he that is} born in his kingdom becometh poor.
And the sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son. {Jeconiah: also called, Jehoiachin or Coniah}
Who had been carried away from Jerusalem with the captivity which had been carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away. {Jeconiah: also called, Jehoiachin}
Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
{As} I live, saith the LORD, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet upon my right hand, yet would I pluck thee thence;
But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
