And as Josiah turned himself, he spied the sepulchres that {were} there in the mount, and sent, and took the bones out of the sepulchres, and burned {them} upon the altar, and polluted it, according to the word of the LORD which the man of God proclaimed, who proclaimed these words.

For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which {are} in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

And I brought them into the house of the LORD, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which {was} by the chamber of the princes, which {was} above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door: {door: Heb. threshold, or, vessel}
And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain {men} before your idols. {images: or, sun images}
And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars. {lay: Heb. give}
And a man's uncle shall take him up, and he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that {is} by the sides of the house, {Is there} yet {any} with thee? and he shall say, No. Then shall he say, Hold thy tongue: for we may not make mention of the name of the LORD. {we...: or, they will not, or, have not}
And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.
And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
