Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, {even} all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read:

Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that {is} written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
Therefore it shall come to pass, {that} as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
Behold, the days come, that all that {is} in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD.
But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;
And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth {day} of the month, {that} Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they built forts against it round about.
Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out {any of} these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I {am} bringing {such} evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go {to be} among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them. {sleep: Heb. lie down}
Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go {and} serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood; {gall: or, a poisonous herb: Heb. rosh}
But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered {with fatness}; then he forsook God {which} made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, {even} all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah:
And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, {but} that ye break my covenant:
I will utterly consume all {things} from off the land, saith the LORD. {I will...; Heb. By taking away I will make an end} {the land: Heb. the face of the land}
Before the decree bring forth, {before} the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.
Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. {to escape: Heb. to go forth of}
For this city hath been to me {as} a provocation of mine anger and of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day; that I should remove it from before my face, {a provocation...: Heb. for my anger}
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Behold, I {am} bringing {such} evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle.

Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal. {provocations: Heb. angers}
Because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place, and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah, and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
