And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, {there appeared} a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain {was} full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

And when I looked, behold the four wheels by the cherubims, one wheel by one cherub, and another wheel by another cherub: and the appearance of the wheels {was} as the colour of a beryl stone.
Was the LORD displeased against the rivers? {was} thine anger against the rivers? {was} thy wrath against the sea, that thou didst ride upon thine horses {and} thy chariots of salvation? {of...: or, were salvation?}
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee: for they {are} men wondered at: for, behold, I will bring forth my servant the BRANCH. {wondered...: Heb. of wonder, or, sign}
And Enoch walked with God: and he {was} not; for God took him.
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the mountains {were} mountains of brass.
And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
And Enoch walked with God: and he {was} not; for God took him.
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on {it}, and fell on their faces to the ground.
Then we which are alive {and} remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
And after the earthquake a fire; {but} the LORD {was} not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.
And it shall come to pass, {as soon as} I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the LORD shall carry thee whither I know not; and {so} when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the LORD from my youth.
And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,

But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I {am} not better than my fathers. {for himself: Heb. for his life}
Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
And it came to pass, when the LORD would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. {the shepherds: Gr. the men the shepherds}
And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
