For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and {one} saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing {is} in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all.
Then will I cast away the seed of Jacob, and David my servant, {so} that I will not take {any} of his seed {to be} rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: for I will cause their captivity to return, and have mercy on them.
Seven years old {was} Jehoash when he began to reign.
And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat {being} then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign. {began...: Heb. reigned}
{There is} no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, {even} the son of Tabeal: {vex: or, waken}

And {then} he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house {with} timber of cedar.
Go unto the house of the Rechabites, and speak unto them, and bring them into the house of the LORD, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.

But she had brought them up to the roof of the house, and hid them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order upon the roof.
