And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. {mites: it is the seventh part of one piece of that brass money}
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, {so let him give}; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
The children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the LORD, every man and woman, whose heart made them willing to bring for all manner of work, which the LORD had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses.
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering. {bring me: Heb. take for me} {offering: or, heave offering}
And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, {and} they brought the LORD'S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.
As every man hath received the gift, {even so} minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever {is} of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, {which} I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped {them} with the hairs of her head.
But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
The desire of a man {is} his kindness: and a poor man {is} better than a liar.

Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, {let us prophesy} according to the proportion of faith;
And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only {son} from me.
My heart {is} toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold {water} only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Also we made ordinances for us, to charge ourselves yearly with the third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God;
He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering. {he be...: Heb. his hand cannot reach to the sufficiency of a lamb}
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
His own hands shall bring the offerings of the LORD made by fire, the fat with the breast, it shall he bring, that the breast may be waved {for} a wave offering before the LORD.
And likewise he that {had received} two, he also gained other two.
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten {son},
And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds.
And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD {be} of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.
Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

And I said unto them, We after our ability have redeemed our brethren the Jews, which were sold unto the heathen; and will ye even sell your brethren? or shall they be sold unto us? Then held they their peace, and found nothing {to answer}.
And {some} of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pound of silver.
But if he be poorer than thy estimation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest shall value him; according to his ability that vowed shall the priest value him.
And if he {be} poor, and cannot get so much; then he shall take one lamb {for} a trespass offering to be waved, to make an atonement for him, and one tenth deal of fine flour mingled with oil for a meat offering, and a log of oil; {cannot...: Heb. his hand reach not} {to be...: Heb. for a waving}
For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation {of the gospel} is committed unto me.

Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
But without thy mind would I do nothing; that thy benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly.
And he called {unto him} his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
And thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the LORD thy God with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give {unto the LORD thy God}, according as the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: {a tribute: or, sufficiency}
And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
