O LORD God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.

Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, {even} the sure mercies of David.
A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, {and} all his afflictions:

The Spirit of the Lord GOD {is} upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to {them that are} bound;

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, {saying},
But my faithfulness and my mercy {shall be} with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they {have been} ever of old. {tender...: Heb. bowels}
Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
