For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel; for he made Judah naked, and transgressed sore against the LORD.

And he had brethren the sons of Jehoshaphat, Azariah, and Jehiel, and Zechariah, and Azariah, and Michael, and Shephatiah: all these {were} the sons of Jehoshaphat king of Israel.
Look on every one {that is} proud, {and} bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.

Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
The stranger that {is} within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up.
Ephraim {is} oppressed {and} broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed {is} he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Where {there is} no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy {is} he. {perish: or, is made naked}

The LORD shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; {even} the king of Assyria.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up {thy} prayer for the remnant that is left. {left: Heb. found}
Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked.
