Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, {even} in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.

{Is} this man Coniah a despised broken idol? {is he} a vessel wherein {is} no pleasure? wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?

And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.

The memory of the just {is} blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, {even} in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the sepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.

And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' sepulchres, {lieth} waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which {belonged} to the kings; for they said, He {is} a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.

And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

Now Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.

And he sought Ahaziah: and they caught him, (for he was hid in Samaria,) and brought him to Jehu: and when they had slain him, they buried him: Because, said they, he {is} the son of Jehoshaphat, who sought the LORD with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah had no power to keep still the kingdom.

And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and Rehoboam his son reigned in his stead. {Rehoboam: Gr. Roboam}

They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding {it}. {destroyed: Heb. beaten in pieces}

And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead. {Ahaziah: also called, Azariah, and Jehoahaz}

In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
