Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God.
Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD {is} righteous.
And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,
And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found {some} good thing toward the LORD God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name {is} Holy; I dwell in the high and holy {place}, with him also {that is} of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. {willingly: Heb. from his heart}
Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that {are} therein?
