And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.

Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
Moreover the altar that {was} at Bethel, {and} the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he brake down, and burned the high place, {and} stamped {it} small to powder, and burned the grove.
Josiah {was} eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name {was} Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that {were} on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust {of them}, and strowed {it} upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. {the images: or, the sun images} {graves: Heb. face of the graves}

Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:
And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain {men} before your idols. {images: or, sun images}

And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.
