John the Baptist

Born c. 5 BC · Died c. AD 29

Forerunner of Jesus, fulfilling the prophecy of Elijah. He preached repentance, baptized Jesus, and declared 'Behold the Lamb of God.' He was the last and greatest of the Old Testament-style prophets.
